July 19, 2023 – Sacramento’s Broadway corridor is about to get a major boost of housing. Demolition work began this week on a long-vacant office building at 19th Street and Broadway to make way for a 140-unit affordable housing apartment building.
The On Broadway complex, being developed by EAH Housing, should be completed in about 22 months, a company spokeswoman said. A ceremonial groundbreaking for the project is expected in a few weeks.
Company officials have previously said that 25% of the units in the $94 million project will be set aside for formerly homeless residents.
