Irvine, CA — EAH, (Ecumenical Association for Housing), now in its 38th year of developing, managing and advocating for quality affordable housing in California and Hawaii, has announced that Vista Del Campo, a 488-unit student housing community located at the University of California at Irvine, has won several key industry awards. Vista Del Campo garnered two Gold Nugget 2005 Awards of Merit, one for Best Low Rise Apartment Project (1-3 stories) and Best Community Site Plan (15-99 acres). There were 206 Award of Merit winners from a field of 651 entries. Vista Del Campo was also awarded a Pillar of the Industry Award from the National Association of Home Builders for Best Student Housing Apartment Community.
Vista Del Campo is a 488-unit student housing community for both upperclassmen and graduate students. Built at a cost of $104.5 million, 1,488 students can be housed in the complex, which includes a community center, 65-seat mini theater, computer center, fitness room, pool/spa, basketball court and volleyball court. Rents are below market, ranging from $881 for a one bedroom to $2240 for a four-bedroom. Vista Del Campo is situated on 28 acres of land on Arroyo Drive in Irvine.
Vista Del Campo is owned by EAH University Properties with financing provided through the issuance of Section 501(c)(3) Student Housing Revenue Bonds. It is managed by American Campus Communities. University Properties holds the property under a 40-year ground lease from the University of California at Irvine. The architect was KTGY, Group, Inc., general contractor was Benchmark Contractors, Inc., landscape architect was IMA Design and civil engineer was KHR Associates.
