Our Commitment to Equal Opportunity
EAH Housing is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment free from discrimination. We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, national origin, or any other arbitrary basis. This commitment aligns with federal laws and US Department of the Treasury policy, prohibiting discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.
Legal Protections and Title VI
Under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, discrimination based on race, color, or national origin is prohibited in programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance. This includes certain employment practices, mainly when the primary purpose of the aid is to provide employment. While Title VI’s protection against employment discrimination is limited, most complaints are referred to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
Reporting Discrimination
If you believe you have been subjected to discrimination, you can file a complaint with EAH Housing, the EEOC, or directly with the US Department of the Treasury. To file a complaint, write to the US Department of the Treasury, Director, Office of Civil Rights and Equal Employment Opportunity, 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC 20220, or email [email protected]. Please visit the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission website or HUD’s Fair Housing page for more information or resources.
