San Rafael, CA — Launched in 2011 with the goal of improving energy efficiency in buildings by 20 percent, the Better Buildings Challenge has already been adopted by more than 120 organizations. In 2012, the challenge was extended to multifamily apartment homes and EAH Housing immediately leaped at the opportunity. Since 2009, EAH has shown a tenacious commitment to energy efficiency through the development of our company-wide strategy the Building Sustainable Communities Initiative and completed energy audits on more than 72% of its portfolio. At the end of 2013, green retrofits were completed on 40 percent of EAH communities helping EAH meet its goals for the Better Buildings Challenge.
