The Laurel is located at 1413 Michigan Avenue in vibrant Santa Monica, close to local shopping centers, diverse dining options, and recreational opportunities. All 58 units are designed for those earning 30% or less of the local area median income (AMI) and provide permanent supportive housing (PSH) for individuals experiencing homelessness. Project-based rental vouchers support all PSH units via the City of Santa Monica.  

The Laurel partners with The People Concern to provide comprehensive resident services, including case management, mental health support, and assistance with daily living activities, ensuring a holistic approach to supportive housing. 

Community highlights include transforming the historically significant Japanese American Nikkei Hall into a community room and a property manager’s unit. Property amenities include bicycle storage, multiple patios, and an expansive open courtyard space, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere.  

Developed by EAH Housing, with architectural design by KFA Architecture and construction managed by Westport Construction Inc. The Laurel promises to be a cornerstone of supportive housing in Santa Monica, blending modern amenities with historical preservation and dedicated support services to serve the Santa Monica community effectively.
